Nice hike. Skip the tenth mile to Winch Pond. Many, many mosquitoes for the least inspiring view. We ran back out to avoid being bitten any more!

Great snowshoe hike on to Cooperas Pond and back to the trailhead. From the trailhead to Owen is only 1/5 mile, on to Cooperas and back makes a 3 mile trip. Nice easy winter snowshoe hike.

Great introduction to snowshoeing. The guy at Cunningham’s in Lake Placid recommended we start here and connect to Copperas Pond Trail. Great suggestion. Easy hike in to great frozen lake and solitude. The climb out from Copperas wasn’t as fun but a great hike nonetheless.
