Morgan Hill State Forest encompasses 5,284 acres of land located in the towns of Fabius, Truxton and Cuyler in the northeastern portion of Cortland County and the southeastern portion of Onondaga County. Morgan Hill State Forest is a very popular area because of its exquisite scenic beauty and excellent hunting opportunities, as well as its easy accessibility from the Syracuse and Cortland area. Morgan Hill State Forest Multiple Use Trail System has been designed to offer many different opportunities for family-based recreation. There are 11.2 miles of marked foot trails which connect the western part of the forest with Labrador Hollow Unique Area, and then continue east as part of the Finger Lakes Trail System.

Hiked on a Friday in late August. Only hiked about 2 miles in, then 2 back out. Great views, wild flowers, shady trails through the woods. Only a few small muddy patches. The blue blazes were pretty easy to follow, though we did get turned around a few times. Seemed like it would be a good v backpacking trip if you started at the South end, & camp at the viewpoint. I recommend getting to the northern starting point via Shackham road. We made the mistake of following Google maps to Morgan Hills State Forest, from which you have to drive 20-30 minutes on a gravel access road.

Tried to do this harder trail after hiking 11 miles the day before. **PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW MY PATH** I said screw it halfway through and paved my own route to a road and turned back. 6.75 miles and I am wiped. love the area though.

The trail was extremely muddy with a lot of trees that had fallen. crews were clearing roadways but most of the trails were a wreck. This led to a lot of free roaming and a good time.

Was a beautiful hike on a nice day, little bit of mud in some places, but manageable. Very clean trails, great views, peaceful too. Happy to be allowed to walk through the private lands still.

A portion of the blue-markered trail was closed about a mile in. There is a new detour trail marked with pink flags that links back up to the trail at the clearing that overlooks Labrador Hollow. The beginning of the "pink flag" trail is a little rough and through tall grass, but after ~1/4 mile it gets a little better and heads back into the woods. We didn't hike the full trail, but made it down to Tinker falls. It was our first time here and we enjoyed it. The only negatives were that a portion was closed and that it was very wet/muddy most of the way.

As shown, very steep first quarter mile but much easier after that. Follow blue blazes for main trail. Great short hike 1.5 miles to very scenic clearing atop Morgan Hill with great views of the valley and Labrador Pond. Trailhead across the pond from the parking area. Trail very muddy in spots so boots are a must.

Did a 13 mile loop around Morgan Hill and camped overnight. Alot of elevation gain and several descents. Several excellent views along the way!

very steep off the start but the view is worth it once you get to the top.

Its a great trail, I only give it a 4 star becuase I don't love trails that are so meticulously built. Follows some better visual routes than if you just bushwacked. Also nicely maintained in the watery areas. Not a hard trail, but best to take a half day and enjoy and
