Getting There

Users recommend parking at what is known as the Platau and hike down a snake path thru the woods to start the ride. Until the road is repaired, parking at Rockland Lake or Riverside Ave in Haverstraw is recommended. Follow the road down the hill until you see a ranger station on the left. 100 meters up you will see Havestraw Trail on the left. This level trail has fantastic views of the Palisades Cliffs and Hook Mountain. It borders the majestic Hudson River with great vistas to the north, south, and East. Bikers are welcome.

Limited street parking

Can be accessed via rockland lake state park or for longer hike (10mile total) can start at Nyack Beach State Park.

Walking/biking trail - definitely some wet spots...but that’s expected. Tons of people out! Had to park in the lower levels and ride the the trailhead

Hiking

Much more of an easy hike than moderate -- it's a simple flat, graded walk along the river. If you're looking for some more challenge, the full Hook Mountain and Nyack Beach Loop adds some fun elevation gain and views.

Walking

Nice trail! We hung to the right at the beginning of the trail for a little wooded walk, had some down trees. Walk along water was beautiful, saw a red tail and an immature eagle!

Hiking

A little slippery with mud and ice, but beautiful. For a great work out and 350 feet elevation, follow the green trail markers up the bluff to the lookout over the Hudson, then head down to the river walk.

Road biking

Pretty views, rocky scenes mixed with Hudson River views. The Bike ride was pleasant but also required some work for those ups and down slopes.

Road biking

The road to the trail head at Nyack Beach is closed. I had to park at what is known as the Platau and hike down a snake path thru the woods to start the ride. Until the road is repaired I would recommend parking at Rockland Lake or Riverside Ave in Haverstraw. AllTrails label this as an easy ride but it is more of a moderate ride. I would ride this again put start in Haverstraw

Right along the Hudson River, this is one of my favorite hikes. When you end at the beach, you can take the bill up and walk towards Rockland Lake. Good to do with kids & stroller friendly.
