Really not much to see during leafy seasons. The upper part of the loop has definitely suffered from recent rains. You can see where there used to be rebar holding logs in place for steps, but they’ve all washed mostly away. There are parts that would be challenging without good boots. The lower half is wide, open and flat with a few uphills challenges. It was definitely quiet and peaceful. No people. No hunters. Lots of birds and we went mid October. Cool mushrooms. Dog loved it.

Your best views will be when leaves are off the trees. I walked in April, when the views of Canandaigua Lake, The West River and the hills beyond were at their best. This trail is not used much, so it is not packed down. There is a lot of oak leaf fall. A hiker can make the walk out and back, which makes the loop less strenuous. The upper part of the loop has some steep ascents and a steep descent. Parking is sparse and the parking is just off a very steep road.

A nice walk in the woods but there was no view of Canandaigua Lake. Trail was well marked and looped which was nice. Dirt hilly road to get to park. Would imagine that the trail would be quite muddy if it had rained recently.
