Take the subway to the Museum of Natural History. Walk north along the park until you come to the northwest corner. This area of the park is always never really crowded and its nice and quiet. The trails head back south and parallel the road. It is a great hike to get out and "escape" the city for a while.

Very cold this morning, but the hike was great. Lots of dogs out enjoying the snow. The start/finish is at the Museum of Natural History...so you can make a day of it by also exploring the museum before or after the hike.
