This trail has lots of variation, elevation and vistas. Follow the white trail, then you will get to an intersection where both paths are blue. If going clockwise, follow the blue, to the left. After a half mile or so, the path will split to blue and white. At that point follow the white, to the right. Then when you get to the road, you’ll see signs for blue (and that’s when the rock stairs start). Finally you end up at the first intersection to get back to the parking lot on the white path. Offline map recommended. Users have reported that the trail is not marked well.

Tackled this trail mid-Febtuary and would warn most to not attempt it. Probably wonderful in Spring, Summer, or Fall but not after large amount of snow. I'm relatively athletic, jog 15-20 miles per week and I thought I would die on the trail. Brutally deep snow the whole way and the physical demand on the body is immense. It took us 6.5 hours to make it out and I could barely move the next day. Important to note, we had to park .6 miles away from start of trail, not sure if that is always the case or because of icy snow piles along the road. We had to walk along the road from parking to trail and it was quite dangerous. Views were gorgeous but never again in snow conditions.

Good hike with lots of rocky terrain. We did clockwise and definitely recommend, there’s a tough section of scrambling after you pass over the road, seems easier to go up than down. Well marked and worth the effort!!

Beautiful hike! I enjoyed doing it clockwise to do the rock scrambling uphill instead of down.

Very well marked. Defiantly make a right at the fork and take the trail that way. You’ll thank me later!

Great trail. I combined this with the storm king loop. For shorter/easier version head right at the blue fork and go up a steady but non-rocky ascent to north point, then across mostly ridge to all the vista views around pitching point. When it steeply heads down you can turn around. When going the long way (left at first fork) there won’t be much to see until you reach the road and head straight up the side of the mountain.
