Walked the orange trail. Tons of gnats, but well shaded. More like a walk through the woods than a hike, but easy if you have kids or a pup!

Great trail to run on especially in the heat of summer. It remains shaded for a majority of it and it’s pleasantly cool while running it, the trail itself isn’t too rocky nor is it covered in a lot of roots. My only gripe was that the trail isn’t really well marked, I got lost and ended up running around some abandoned summer camp which wasn’t too bad at first until I got really lost. I don’t generally take my phone with me when I’m running trails but I guess I will from now on. Overall 7/10

Beautiful, well marked (for the most part) trail network. Don’t step over the abundant red spotted newts on the trail! To avoid roads inside the park use my trail recording. It will even take you to a porta-potty if you need it! LOL

Poorly marked trails. Got lost and navigated only close around both lakes. Beautiful however. Saw lots of frogs in their natural habitat. It was like Froggie-Town.

Lots of man made buildings, rubber and metal tubing for most likely run off/sewage water from bathrooms? But the tubing was basically over the trail. Tons and tons and tons and tons of gnats. I would not recommend at all.

Thus is a summer camp. Creepy like Friday the Thirteenth. Much if this “trail” is road. Poorly marked actual trails (much the way CT parks mark trails). Not worth the drive for moderate elevation change, loose dirt, paved roads. One spot had views, which is what is prompting the high stars. Thus will be buggy as all get out. Meh. It’s pretty if you’re from out of the area, but far too many buildings, roads. Oh, and off season deer hunting is allowed. Be careful with your dogs.

Nice trail in the forest close to small lakes. Only the last part was bad, do not follow the alltrails red trail. Better go on white and dotted black in the end of the loop. Red one was wild.

Really really beautiful. My dog and I ended up following the map and doing a longer trail than just the orange. Only not 5 stars because we had to walk on the road for about a mile!

Decent trail. The Red Trail markers were difficult to follow and that trail is minimally maintained. The orange trail was easy but mostly on a road. TONS of bugs in late July. A couple of spots that are a little tough for dogs that may not like jumping down onto rocks.

This place starts off fine. A tad flat on the outskirts. But, towards the end, the gravel turns to road, and cars are flying by. Meh.

Initial Gravel Road a little difficult to run on, but once on single tracks trails you'll find it totally worth it. Quiet and well marked with some nice views.

I discovered the orange trail that's a 3.4 mi loop and it's awesome for trail running! Going to try Mountain biking it today, the last 1/4 mile is technical.

Only discovered 3mi in trails, most of which were bridle /fire roads. There are a nice overlook area with a bench and telescope. Near youth campground.

First to Review

Well maintained trails are the redeeming factor for this park. The overlook has a good view of the surrounding areas and the highest point in Westchester is very lack luster to say the least.
