I wouldn't recommend this as the best day hike...I would definitely camp out for this one! But the trails were kept in good care. Trail is very rocky and tough at some points. Lake tear of the clouds is also located on this mtn and it is the highest pond in ny! Very nice and only 1/2 mile from the top of Skylight!

The trail up to Mount Skylight was a rocky trail that was very easy to navigate. Parts of the trail was wet but the views from the summit were very nice. There wasn't that many people up on the summit when we got there. I would do this one again in the winter.
