Steep but great trail

The lack of switch backs and abundance of ice made this hike less than easy but still very pretty and not too crowded. Some of the other trails may have been clearer. This one was a little overgrown at the end.

Great hike. Fine for young kids (mine are 8 and 6). A bit of ice but less than other trails in the area and it’s relatively to side step the trail to avoid the icy patches.

This is a good hike but the marking for the trail leading up to mount raimer is not marked well. But the taconic crest ridge part is well marked but you need micro spikes if you do the loop and watch for some fallen branches. All in all glad I did it.

Nice loop, no views during the summer when the trees have their leaves.
