Mt. Arab is a short 0.7 mile scenic hike in the Adirondacks on a nice moderate trail. There is also a fire tower at the top that provides excellent views. Mt Arab has been a very popular and accessible hiking destination for generations because of the spectacular views from the fire tower. You can view Tupper Lake and Mount Morris to the southeast, the Adirondack High Peaks to the east, The Raquette River valley to the north, Horseshoe Lake Wild Forest to the southwest, and Mt Arab Lake and Eagle Crag Lake to the west. Nice easy 2mile RT hike that is great for the kids.

Hubby and I are training for a thru-hike definitely a good climb!
Beautiful trail...well marked!
Amazing views from the top and from tower!

Black flies were atrocious, had to wear our head nets to be able to enjoy the top.

A fun short hike. We went yesterday 2017/04/30. While the weather was mixed on the way up, it started raining quite a bit once we made the summit. The observer's cabin porch came in quite useful. The hike itself is easy with only a few spots that require any effort. Parts of the trail have rock stairs and wooden bridges which were very helpful since the trail was a bit muddy. I will also say that the directions to the trail that All Trails provides were spot on and easy to follow.

great family hike! hiked today with my four year old. lots of mud and slick on the way down with the remaining snow. cabin and fire tower along with beautiful benches provide this hike a little something extra. cant wait to hike again when the cabin is open!

A nice and short hike. This was my first hike last summer, it sparked the fire I now have for fire tower climbs. A well maintained and busy trail, beautiful summit.

This was a fun and easy trail to snowshoe. The trail was nicely packed down from the groups of people that were hiking. The views from the top were not bad at all.

Hiked on 1/14. Really great hike with a cool
Fire tower to climb at the top. Views were spectacular, but careful coming down in the winter because of the ice.

We did the Tupper Lake Triad on 1/7 and it was a beautiful day for it! We started with Mt. Arab, went to Coney, then finished with Goodman. When I do it again, we will probably end with Coney because it was the quickest and easiest.

The views from Arab were very nice. I love the fire towers! We spent a few minutes at the summit and didn't climb the tower because we didn't want to unstrap our snowshoes.

The trail was really easy to follow. With the time at the summit, it took a little over an hour and a half total.

This hiking trail was completed as part of the Firetower challenge and Tupper Lake Triad. It is a relatively short moderate hike with well-maintained ascents and offers a great view of the St. Lawrence Watershed wilderness area and Tupper Lake Valley. I hiked this trail in mid November, missing colors and warm weather, the trail was still beautiful and well-worth the hour effort. The summit's tower is in great shape with a full panoramic view. The southern exposure offers a rocky ledge and many carved-log sitting benches where you can rest or have a picnic with friends. Friends of Mt Arab have incorporated an interpretative element to the trail, complete with a log-cabin museum at the top, making this a great experience for kids as well.

This hike was great. It was a little windy when we got to the top, but that was ok, since we were a little hot by the time we reached the summit. The fire tower was open. The only drawback was that the tower windows on all three sides were milky and distorted, but the window that faces the lake was open, and we were able to poke our heads out to get some pictures and feel the wind ripping by. Also worth mentioning, there is a neat little spot with a bench - there are actually two - but the one that we really liked was the one facing the lake. Come out of the fire tower, at the bottom of the stairs, go straight down the little path. You can't miss it. It's a great place to sit and eat a snack before going back down the mountain. 10/10 would certainly do again!
