Mt. Arab is a short 0.7 mile scenic hike in the Adirondacks on a nice moderate trail. There is also a fire tower at the top that provides excellent views. Mt Arab has been a very popular and accessible hiking destination for generations because of the spectacular views from the fire tower. You can view Tupper Lake and Mount Morris to the southeast, the Adirondack High Peaks to the east, The Raquette River valley to the north, Horseshoe Lake Wild Forest to the southwest, and Mt Arab Lake and Eagle Crag Lake to the west. Nice easy 2mile RT hike that is great for the kids.

Pretty buggy in spots and very muddy. Trail was well kept. Beautiful view, but not a "bald" peak, so you can only get the view from the fire tower or a couple of spots on the top.

Pleasant hike with plenty of new trail infrastructure to aid you. Great view from fire tower as well as numerous scenic vistas at the top. Extremely buggy. Fire tower had windows that were impossible to see out of without opening and you could only open a few so the traditional 360 degree view from the fire tower was not present.

Hiked on a super muddy day with our 3-year-old and infant sons. Good hike for kids with some hiking background. Our toddler loved it. The fire tower views are amazing; our toddler didn't want to come down. Summit offers nice views as well, with a convenient bench. If someone is working the museum at the top they have some nice prizes for kids. Would definitely recommend to adventurous families.

One of the more well-done summits. Nice bench to enjoy the view from the top, I think it faced South. Lots of lakes and rivers to see from the firetower. The fire-tower was especially nice because it has a guide to all of the surrounding mountains within view on the walls of the cab atop the firetower. It was nice to see someone working at the ranger's cabin with his large dogs who could tell us about FOMA and the history of the mountain. I was also very happy to find out Mt. Arab is part of the tupper lake triad. I've earned my first patch.
