This is a wonderful set of trails, smooth, with gradual inclines, and plenty of interesting views. If you would like to start with the steeper section and return on a more gradual grade, you can take the right (west) branch onto the loop trail and do Rocky Peak first.
Easy trail along a well-maintained path with good markers. Rolling inclines make for a leisurely hike. Fresh snow tracks with some icy patches; microspikes helpful, though not essential.
Definitely nothing wrong with this trail. Got a nice little workout on the way up. Only knocked it a star because I wish there was more views. Look for the entrance to Henry’s Woods and not where Maps will take you!
This is a wonderful set of trails, smooth, with gradual inclines, and plenty of interesting views. Recommend going around the loop the opposite way - take the right (west) branch onto the loop trail - and do Rocky peak first. This way you will be going up the steeper path, and down the more gradual path.
Nice, easy trail until you climb the summit. That’s a bit more challenging, but enjoyable!
the view at the top wasn't amazing (maybe when there's less foliage that wouldn't be the case?) but the trail was good--well marked, clean, wide paths. getting up and down the top was strenuous but not too difficult.
Great short hike with not too much elevation. Great for beginners or advanced and want an easy hike
A perfect quick hike on a morning with unpredictable weather. Cloudy and foggy so our view wasn’t stellar but the hike was nice. No bugs, trail clearly marked. Rocky Knob has some incline but for high peaks region I’d still rate it at easy. Good dogs allowed off leash. We saw a few other hikers but mild traffic.
Very close to the main strip! But hidden gem. Park right on the little U-shaped road. The Loop is EASY. Really nice, kind of flat, wide, and well maintained. Once you leave the main loop, and go to the well-labeled off-shoots it gets VERY hilly and truly becomes moderate to difficult. Not sure the hike up to the summit view (Rocky Knob) is worth the almost vertical hike. The views on the yellow trail (Plateau) are much easier and essentially the same. But that’s just an opinion. Overall great hike. Challenging but worth it. Well labeled, clean, and not crowded. And no sun! All shade.
