Decent hike. If it rains the day before it will likely be very muddy. Be warned the 2nd half is actually not on a trail. You can follow the line on the map, but it was challenging to get thru even the first part. We ended up turning around bc we had already seen a few snakes and didn’t want to up the chance of snake bite.

Didnt realize part of this hike was off trail and hard going even in spring.

The west/southwest part of this trail is non-existent. Literally. We found it but only because there’s no foliage in the undergrowth. If there were, it’d be unfindable. You can string together a bunch of good sections - but be warned: you’re not going to do this ‘kite’ loop unless you’re prepared to break out your Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass.

Actually looks like you did take the lower section (or close by) of Bockey Swamp trail on trip. Very nice website by the way! I am in the park 3X a week now hiking. If you haven't already get app for your phone with trails. You will never get lost (hopefully) in Harriman State Park
