Impressive falls estimated 40 feet tall and 100 feet wide, beach, 15 min walk in The walk in is very easy. It looks like an old service road.An impressive falls at an estimated 40 feet tall and 100 feet wide. Lampson is a shallow and broad-faced falls, which can have huge amounts of water flowing over it during peak melt season in the spring. During the summer it calms and becomes a much quieter setting. At the bottom of the falls a small beach has formed allowing for swimming and picnicking. The 15 minute walk into this area is well worth it.
It's a good for a family trip. Only 1 mile walk leads you to the Fall.
I would hardly call this a moderate hike. It's easily accessible by all and it isn't even a mile round trip. But having said that views are amazing. And if you make the trip in the warm months bring a swim suit and hop in!
We have been going here for years. Its an easy walk in great for kids and pets.
Beautiful and easy hike.
I believe we did more than just going into the falls. We walked in, signed the visitor book then followed a wide trail to the falls. My Garmin has recorded a 3.24 mile loop. We walked out on the wooden platform they have for viewing the falls then walked back to the trail and continued to the left (not going back to the park lot). I looked at the map on my Garmin and the falls are at about a half mile. There are yellow trail mark circles on the trees we followed it continued north before going west at the 1.5 mile mark. NW a bit till you came out on another good view of the river. This is where you turn South and the trail got a little sparse. It's right on the edges of the river so your view is beautiful- keep an eye out for trail marker signs. We almost missed them at one point. Also it's winter time that we did this, careful of ice. You move away from the river and cut through some really gorgeous pine trees. The real gem is when you hear the falls again at the 2.5 mile mark. A great spot to have a bite to eat and watch the falls. There is a beach up a quarter mile from there and you climb up to find yourself back at the viewing platform.
Flat walk in, gorgeous falls with a nice little beach area.
Very easy, relatively flat trail with nice view of the falls.
This was the first hike for my boys, 10 and 5, and they absurdly loved it. They particularly liked swimming at the Falls. But also exploring around. They can't wait to go back and try other hikes.
It's a short ride to the falls but beautiful every time. There is some interesting terrain around the area however you might want to wear bug spray.
Beautiful little hike. It was nature at its finest and well worth the visit. There was enough climbing around the falls to give it a little extra workout but overall an easy trail.
