Directions from Palisades Interstate Parkway, NY: Travel to Exit 16, Lake Welch Drive. In .25 mile, turn onto Tiorati Brook Road which takes you to the beach.

It was very pretty until you get to the lake which you may be surprised to hear. Unless you consider the stress of oncoming traffic soothing don't bother with this hike. That's right folks, half of the trail is actually just the street. It's also way too uphill to be considered easy. Do not take your grandma.

I had assumed this trail would be along the lake. While it was, you had to hike in the road. The woods side of the hike was lovely but the lake side is not good for dogs nor small children.

I love Harriman State Park trails. The best part of these trails is that you can go from one loop to another with ease. It doesn't matter if your looking for a short day hike or a five day adventure, this place has it all.
