11/12/20 50 degrees, overcast. Parking lot had a lot of cars, only saw one couple with a dog and a gentleman. If you’re using the trail map, take the trail that says “Berry Pond” it has blue markers. You won’t travel very far, there will be a waterfall to your right. There’s access to get to it & climb to the top. As you travel past the waterfall the trail is a steady climb to the top. If you have poles bring them or grab a stick. There’s a lot of loose rocks covered in leaves which were very slippery. When you get to the top the view is to your left. If you stay taught, the trail continues. You will end up on a dirt road, with blue markers. When you come to an intersection with a bunch of yellow signs, there’s a right trail that’s marked orange and when that stays straight. I kept going straight following the orange. It loops back around to the main trail with blue markers. This is not on the trail map. It’s not a strenuous climb but it it’s a great workout!!

Not a bad afternoon hike. It will get your blood pumping at times, but not overly challenging. A long stretch of the trail is/was a logging trail and is littered w branches of all sizes, making it a less well-maintained trail than others in the ADK region. Keep hiking beyond the end of the AllTrails map to get another, better view looking south of the mountain.

Only did about 1/2 of the blue trail and climb. Bugs were so bad. I think in the fall on a crisp day this would be a super lovely hike. Prior to the blue, I climbed up a dirt road near the complex to the sand and gravel company.. then ran down. Also buggy.

Excellent trail, decent climbs, nice walk through the woods, and a really nice view. keep in mind that there are many trails starring from the parking lot. to follow the Alltrails map, take the trail to Berry Pond and follow the blue markers.

Great hike but definitely not “easy”. Straight-ups get your heart rate pumping. Rocky with lots of branches down so need to watch footing. Trails not easily identified but new blue markers easy to see. Variety of terrrain. Good view of Lake Goeorge from top. Enjoyable. Terrific work-out. Dogs handled it very well.

It’s a lot of straight up for the first half so I wouldn’t really call it easy but it was a nice hike.

I would not call this trail easy, it is definitely more on the moderate level. The trail isn’t well maintained but luckily the blue trail markers were easy to follow. The view was nice, but I am not sure it was worth the work. I probably won’t do this trail again. The waterfalls at the beginning though are beautiful, I will definitely be back to see them.

Not a bad trail system, but if you've never been there before, print out a map. The trails wind in different directions and cross each other so many times it's easy to turned around. There is also a way to hike up the backside of Prospect Mountain from this trail system. I prefer going up Prospect that way rather than the straight up hike you do from the village.
