This is an easy-moderate, very well marked trail with yellow arrow signs almost every 20 feet or so. This is due to the close proximity of private land. There are also many signs denoting private property, so please be respectful! The trail starts off as an easy walk in the woods. There are two maps along the trail that mark your current location in relation to the peak. About halfway up, the trail becomes moderately steep until the trail ends. There is a sign that literally says "Trail Ends" at a beautiful view of Loon Lake and Gore mountain in the distance. There is also a nice sign noting different peaks that can be seen from this vista. Note: This trail is closed October - December for Hunting Season.

This was a nice quick hike to views of Gore Mountain and Loon Lake. The trail was a mixture of mud and snow and windy at the top. Overall I’ll do this hike again.

Great quick trail fir the youngsters I have done this one twice. On the second trip we spotted a fairly big porcupine near the summit. If you are looking for something to do with the young kids, this is it. Only 2 miles round trip.

Great trail, well marked. The sign at the trailhead said it was a 2 hour hike, but it's not really that long. I did it in an hour and 15 minutes, and that was with spending almost a half hour at the summit

Awesome hike! Some parts were steep but well worth it once at the top! Views from the top were stunning! Bring bug spray! They were brutal! Would love to do it again!

This is a very short trail but has great views! Perfect to do with Stewart Mountain right down the road and some of the other Chester Challenge mountains for a full day of hiking. I brought my dog and they were nice short walks for him.

Nice short hike to beautiful view of Loon Lake. I love the markers the Town of Chester has for it's trails. Easy to follow.

Nice short hike of 1.8 miles, views of Loon Lake and southern Adirondack peaks are very nice. This is one of 8 trails that are part of the "Chester Challenge" offered by the town of Chester.

Great easy-moderate hike. There was a little bit of snow/ice on the ground so a light crampon could be useful. This trail is very well marked with yellow signs almost every 20 feet or so. Beware of the private property and stay on the trail! The trail ends with a fantastic view of Loon Lake and Gore mountain in the distance. There is also a nice sign that denotes different peaks that can be seen at the end of the trial. I am a fit 28 year old and it only took me 20 minutes to reach the end.
