Was a beautiful day for a hike! We did have some trouble finding the Hurricane ledge but it just took some time and adventuring around! We also found the plane crash towards the bottom on our hike out. Only saw 2 other hikers. Little to no garbage was on the trail which was nice to see.

Don't let the easy rating on this hike fool you. It was certainly challenging. Mostly a steady, steep climb through a rocky trail then some rock scaling just before the very top. As you get towards the top, the trail isn't that well marked and there is no signs or markers that point you towards Hurricane Ledge or the plane crash site. Hurricane Ledge is definitely worth a visit since you can not see any views from the top of the high peak, just a piece of the plane someone must've dragged up there, an ammo case full of emergency supplies and 2 geological markers. I never made it to the plane crash site as it was getting late and we were completely exhausted and we skipped Poets Ledge, which adds about another mile to the hike. But the water falls with ledges on the way up are breath taking. There is no trail head parking on Malden Ave and we practically got chased out by a local when looking for somewhere to park. We chose the dirt lot across the street just off of 23 A across from the church about .5 miles from Malden Ave and hiked it in. This definitely isn't easy because you are climbing 4000 feet in elevation in just over 5 miles and because of the length of the trek. We left the car at 10 am and got back to it by 9 pm, we stopped twice to eat for about an hour total, got off the trail for about another mile and that ate up some time but overall this is an all day, moderately difficult hike.

Did the out and back as a day hike starting from Malden Ave. You can park at the restaurant as long as you ask them permission. Stopping along the way to hit Poet's Ledge, Wildcat and Buttermilk Falls is great they have nice views to the North. There is a ammo case and piece of the plane wreckage at the summit along with some USGS markers. Be sure to continue over the top to the South and hit Hurricane Ledge for a nice view of the Devil's Path (Indian Head - Plateau). I wouldn't rate this as easy though due to the distance and elevation gain.

Really nice hike. Take the falls too, and make it up to the top. Great place for a snack. Nice diversity, shaded trail.

Went up in winter. There are lots of streams and waterfalls that looked beautiful covered in ice.

Fantastic hike with great views. Unfortunately it's very hard to find the trailhead, which is a small road up empty private land, just past the restaurant and waterfall.
