Great hike, a couple good spots to cool off in the river near the forest ranger's cabin. Good hiking boots are a must. Took us about 4 hours total with a 45 minute rest at the river. the trail was nicely maintained. There is a $10 fee to park

Out and back 7 miles. We did this in 3 and a half hours and we are average fitness. Very enjoyable. Make sure your shoes are waterproof because of the stream crossings, although there are bridges almost everywhere.

Hiked out from Johns brook lean too’s. Good hike, had older kids on their first backpacking trip. Colder at the top than expected in August.

Beautiful hike into the Johns Brook Lodge! Nice trail, great bridges, great views of the brook. No signs indicating this, but apparently at the Lodge, the rule is "Guests inside, hikers outside" so we were asked "next time" not to sit at the tables inside, even though they were all empty for the 10 minutes we used one :(

Fun easy hike, a little long for younger kids. fun bridges over streams and beautiful views of run off. went to thw end of the trail and to the right a few feet and sat on the water for a beautiful view for a picnic. did not go the .4 of a mile to the lodge as we were limited on time!

I took this trail on my way down from Big Slide Mountain. This was a very easy going trail that was more like a park setting. This was a perfect and easy way to end my hike of Big Slide Mountain.

JBL is a wonderful experience. The hike in during my time was rainy but that didn't stop me from continuing the journey. I treat JBL as a great base camp for other hikes and encourage those reading this to spend a night or two at the lodge. Lots of wildlife to see along the journey.
