Part of the trail is missing due to Beavers damming the pond. trail is under water. You have to go off trail a bit to get around that portion.

take the left trail around the pond, if you continue you will find a large rock formation. there is a foot trail that fallows that rock on your left facing the rock. take that to the top it loops to the back side of that cliff and gives you a breath taking view of the pond. the right side offers excellent camp sites.

Great hike, views and trail. Just to let everyone know, those "rock statues" are called Rock Cairns and they are for rock climbers as a sign that there is rock climbing near by. Since rock climbing is dangerous, printed signs aren't allowed because beginners can injure themselves going alone, so the Cairns are there to signify to climbers that there is rock climbing in that direction, and if you keep following it there will be more until you end up at a rock wall. So if you see them, please do not knock them over.

Hiked on 12/9/18. Didn’t necessarily need the spikes but wore them anyways and there were a couple icy spots. Trail seems to be neglected as trees are down on the trails and picked up quite a few beer and soda cans. Also had to knock down those silly rock statues people make on the trails...why??? The only evidence you should leave are your footprints. Overall it’s a quick 30 minutes up one way and don’t forget to keep walking to get on top of the big rock overlooking the pond.

Easy trail and beautiful! Bring bug spray because you are hiking to a pond in the Adirondacks! The trail system links up with the buck mtn trail. Overall a great hike and my kids and I loved it!

Nice, easy hike around a picturesque pond. Make sure you go to the rock overlook on the pond’s west end. Bushwhack to the north and meet up with end of the trail on the north side. The whole loop is slightly over 3.5 miles with a few hundred feet of elevation gain.
