Nice, flat and easy trail in a portion of forest opposite (and part of) Saratoga Spa State Park. It's gentle underfoot and offers a great opportunity for some solitude in nature.
The trail was ok for a quick walk. No elevation gain or loss. Flat as Florida. Lots of leaves, noise and bugs. Glad I did it. Keep exploring.
Nice flat trail, great for walking and kids. Was very buggy, few spots were sunny so on a hot day make sure your kids have a hat or sunscreen. The only reason I gave this trail a 3 was because of the road noise. You can hear I-87 then part of the trail you can see the adjacent road. The forest was very beautiful, lots of chipmunks and even saw a cute little garter snake.
This was a beautiful very flat and easy figure 8 trail. Lots of shade, tons of wildlife, a little buggy but nothing bug spray won't fix. You only really hear route 9 for a short while before it becomes quiet. Super dog and kid friendly. The trail(s) were very well marked and very well defined even without trail markers. Bumble and I had the entire trail to ourselves. We only saw a handful of people towards the end of our hike back towards the trail head.
I wish I could give this trail 5 stars but bc of aggressive off leash dogs I had to drop the rating. My dog and I did a couple loops on the blue and green trails. It was enjoyable until I decided to check out the white loop, which is a shorter loop. On the white loop we encountered an aggressive off leash dog. The dog charged from 50' away to about 10' as I was yelling at it to try to prevent an attack. Luckily he did stop but still displayed very aggressive body language until finally the owner caught up and grabbed him. We finished the white loop and encountered another aggressive off leash dog in the parking lot. Bc of this risk, we won't be returning to this trail, which is a shame bc the trail itself is a nice trail. If you bring a dog, just beware of this.
A perfect first tail for my almost 4 year old. Short but got us out in the woods. Some logs to climb over. A few bridges with water running underneath.
This is a great trail that offers a lot of nature in an urban setting. Trail is easy to follow and is ideal for dogs and kids. Currently muddy in spots due to recent rain. Saw a number of Scarlet Tanagers, Nuthatches, and chipmunks. Also saw a garter snake.
