Hemlock Lake is a 5.9 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Hemlock, New York that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Today was a nice sunny mid 60's day. We haven't had rain so no mud. I can see where there will be a lot of water flowing across this trail in the spring or during rainy weather. 2 miles of gravel lane then the rest is an unmarked trail through the woods.
What a beautiful hike! Got a little muddy and there is not a defined “turn around here” spot. Great views of the lake and not that busy on the trail itself.
Beautiful views, but turned around because of extremely buggy stretch both the trail. Covered head to toe in either flies or mosquitos. Would be 5 star without the bugs!
Hemlock Lake has been a staple for my entire family, my whole life. We kayak, fish, hike, and lots of other things here. It's where my parents brought me, I have brought my kids, and I hope the tradition continues on with my grandchildren. Wonderful place to go when you want to relax. It's magical!
