Tried a reverse loop around the pond with my young son. Starting on the Hawk trail which was very poorly marked, as in not at all. The All Trails app made the nav. easy. But while traveling (bush whacking) along the side hill my son strained something. Nothing serious but enough he didn't want to continue. The rest of the trail may have been able to up the rating if we completed it. But definitely not kid friendly on the Hawk trail.

Trails are poorly marked & after about a mile in they're severely overgrown.

There are a number of trails in the county park. It's close to home and we visit fairly often and have for years. It can be muddy especially in the spring so wear boots. You can choose trails that are mostly wooded or ones that include more open areas. There are also trails in the state forest adjoining the county park. These are marked for skiing rather than hiking. They can be a bit tricky to follow as they are less used and not always as obviously trails, but worth checking out.
