The Hammond Hill State Forest Multiple Use Trail System has been designed to offer family-based recreation for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and cross-county skiing. A snowmobile trail and the Finger Lakes Hiking Trail also cross the forest. The trails are marked with circular trail signs. All trails are designated by color and number. Most of the trails are above 1800 feet in elevation; therefore, these trails are well suited for cross-county skiing. The trails are classified by the user's ability. Beginner trails have very gentle slopes and are fairly short in length. Intermediate trails have gentle to somewhat steep slopes and are moderate in length. Advanced trails have gentle to steep slopes and are usually longer in length than intermediate trails.

This was a gorgeous trail, so many beautiful sights! Found it kind of hard to find the trail head so basically I would suggest parking in the very open parking lot to the right once you get the the location, and just crossing the road! It was pretty empty to me, but I also just came after a rain storm so that may have been why. Definitely want to come back and explore more of the trails here!

A few steep spots for beginners but nothing you can’t walk if necessary. Great trail!

We did this hike in December 20 degree weather and snow about 4-5 inches of snow. Beautiful trail. moderately trafficked not only by hikers but cross country skiers and by people snowshoeing. a very peaceful trail not too much elevation and great for begginers! loved the snowy wooden scenery. the trails are easily marked.

Trails are very well maintained pleasant hike but I can't see it as a moderate hike, easy at most.

Easy but slightly confusing trail markers. Be sure you take a map or you could easily get lost.
