It was a beautiful trail, the markings are all fantastic and the trail is very well maintained! There is a timid amount of easy climbing, a couple hundred feet if you get creative!

Great easy trail! Been walking this loop since I was a kid! Great place for dogs to walk on leash. Many views of the beautiful lake. My dog loves swimming in the waters here!

This is a pretty simple trail. The hardest part is figuring out how to get there from the parking lot. The trail is well defined and shaded. There are lots of spots to sit and enjoy the view toward the end of the trail you are taken out to a paved trail. If you follow that there is a nice grass area with benches. Also, as another biker mentioned, there is a clean area (no moss or green muck) in which you can put your feet in. This was my dogs favorite part!

BEAUTIFUL! Great for kids. Well maintained with lots of areas to explore. We took our shoes off and put our toes in the water. Definitely a hike-and-swim spot. Can’t wait to go back.

Mathew Conroy is spot on. still the same in April 2019. One trail is paved (away from lake) and one in the woods. Nice hikr.

Nice loop around Green Mountain Lake at Lakeside Park. The only slightly strenuous part is the hill at the east side of the trail, which features an outdoor chapel dedicated in 1956. The trail splits just before this hill, so there are two ways up - one that tracks close to the lake and another that goes directly up over the hill. The trails in both Lakeside and Murrow Parks could be better marked, and my understanding is that efforts are underway to do so. This hike features some nice lake views, especially from the west side. The portion of the trail that follows the lake shore is accessible right after the stone bridge on the service road. At the trail head you can either walk around service road or take the little shortcut across the spillway to start. Plenty of parking, either near the park entrance or west, past the athletic fields.
