Entered via Willow St. parking lot. The trail was frozen after a few days of heavy snow, rains, higher then lower temps. Followed the 3.7 mile red, blue, yellow to red trail loop. Well marked with some slight grades which will be fun to return to with snowshoes when more snow on the ground.
Not bad for a quick hike staying close to home. Very sandy, not too muddy. Not a lot to see other than the photos I took. The trail is well marked and although a few mountain bikers and hikers were on the trail we had Oat of the time to ourselves. I’d recommend it if you live close and want a quick 5 mile in a time crunch.
went on a rainy Thanksgiving morning - still saw 5 groups. sandy path stayed dry except for railroad ties path on yellow that was slippery. at end saw herd of deer.
This was pretty fun for mountain biking! Struggled here and there biking with my 8 yr old since maneuvering the bike on sandy part of the trail was TOUGH and we all have mountain bikes. But both 8 and 12 yr old really enjoyed it. Today’s weather was amazing so we didn’t mind getting off and hike up some hills. Def would come back and bike here again!!
