Garnsey Park Trail is a 2 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Rexford, New York that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Nice trail with multiple loop options. Enough room to stay off the cross-country ski trails in most locations. Dog friendly, kid friendly, adult friendly. Trails were packed down enough that snowshoes were overkill, but it was a good outing with the family.
Bit slippery. The snow has solidified into ice but otherwise a pleasant walk
Tough walking with the snow pack, but a pleasant walk. I do wish that people with dogs would not leave their droppings, they can pass disease to wild animals.
Back loop (yellow) is super muddy and not as well marked as other loops. Rest is lovely, wide and mostly flat and would be nice on skis/snow shoes.
BLUE TRAIL: Wide, flat trail with LOTS of Eastern Bluebirds, some Cardinals and Chick-a-dees, and some sparrow-sized birds with white bellies (we’re very new to birding). Icy patches near the start, and muddy patches near the end. RED TRAIL - Wide trail that is hilly and uneven at points. Some Eastern Bluebirds and Chick-a-dees. Passes near a farm where cows and a goat could be spied thru the leafless trees. A rooster was heard, but not seen. WHITE TRAIL - Narrow path with tree roots and rocks as possible trip hazards. Surprisingly no birds, given that this was the woodsiest of the 3 trails we explored. YELLOW TRAIL - We did not attempt this trail. It appears to be narrow and woodsy at its start.
Nice easy trail definitely need boots. Open field walk or follow into forest narrow trail. Easy to follow even when leaves have fallen.
fields of goldenrod, bird houses. and forest of maples and elms. strict dog rules - be prepared to be fined if no leash.
Nice trail with varied terrain. Some rugged, some meadow. Not too hard to follow. A little muddy in places.
A nice walk through a park but not as “woodsy” as we were expecting. It was raining lightly but we thought there would be tree coverage but mostly just overgrown flattened grass path.
Lots of open space...hot in the sun. Nice wooded areas too.
This trail was beautiful, some really overgrown areas on the yellow trail. but overall easy and beautiful.
I love this trail, it reminds me of where I grew up. Lots of blackberries.
Yellow loop can be a bit buggy and a tiny bit overgrown. Besides that it’s a very nice path way.
