Franny Reese State Park is a 2.3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Highland, New York that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Great view of the MidHudson Bridge. Easy hike.
Had a very nice day at Franny Reese State Park. It has a little bit of everything: Some inclines, small streams, great overlook of the Mid Hudson Bridge, and lots of wildlife. Saw many birds, and a very large snake! It was a very nice hike. I will post some photos (Vegan Moose Photography)
Small incline in the beginning, fairly easy after.
Nice view, very easy hike.
Like walking on roadways?
I come here all the time for the last 5 years. It is truly a hidden gem and a very easy trail with a big payoff shortly after you start.
Did The Walkway over the Hudson between Highland NY and Poughkeepsie NY yesterday afternoon. It was quite a nice afternoon stroll going past the old bridge. Almost reminded me of the times I'd stroll through the Brooklyn Bridge when I was closer to NYC, except of course Highland is much less crowded and the views are bearer. One side looks over to the NYC area and I was lead to believe that the Empire State building was visible (maybe during the colder seasons when the trees aren't in full bloom), while the other side looks over the uninhibited Catskills.
It was a nice walk filled with good vibes.
