This is on an active coast guard base, so please only stay in public use areas. Visit the visitor center at New York Avenue and Marshall Road first. There’s a good parking lot there as well. This area provides excellent views of New York City from Staten Island.

Coastguard housing makes this a bit tricky. Forts and views are great though.

Good view of Manhattan and the bridge. Some old fort buildings and cannons.

Nice enough walk, paved. But it is still an active coast guard base, the map provided is not an accurate map for public use. If you know the area it’s easy to navigate around the government property. If you don’t know the area, visit the visitor center at New York ave and Marshall rd first. There’s a good parking lot there as well.
