HikingGreat!IcySnow

Trail is really easy to follow, when it’s covered in snow it’s a little harder to follow and you may end up walking on the small creek but just keep your eyes out for the flames on the tree. I think the last one fell off so it just looks like a blue square on a tree

Hiking

Quick and easy for an in and out trail with this beautiful waterfall and eternal flame at the end. If you’re hiking after a snow or during the winter I would bring the proper footwear (cleats, spikes, etc.) I had not planned on hiking but I did have my waders with cleated wading boots. The hill does get a little icy once packed down and of course you will encounter ice walking along the stream bed. I felt a little silly in my attire but it worked great as I was lucky enough to light the flame with some helpful tips from a couple passing through! Thank you!

I don’t love out and backs, but the flame is worth seeing. And a fairly simple hike for the majority of the way. Gets a little wet at times but otherwise worth it.

Icy due to all the recent rain and todays colder temps but so beautiful! I had ice cleats luckily, I felt it was almost necessary to be safer especially if going alone. A hiking pole would also help as well. Happy NYE!!

Not a bad hike even on a packed snow trail. Bring a lighter, because eternal flame is a bit of a misnomer, I had to light the flame 7 times to get a good picture.

Flame is awesome! Trail was wet, recent dusting of snow. Slippery, muddy, along creek. Wear shoes that cover your ankles and can get wet as there are stream crossing.
