Parking on the side of the road near the end trail is the sortest way into the falls. You can also park in the park and hike in from there.

Though a short and easy trail, it set the pace for a brisk hike through the woods. The waterfalls were dry when we visited (mid August), but the view was still very scenic and pristine. This trail is perfect for first timers.

One of our favorites.

Moderate hike with many tree roots throughout. Small creek at the bottom with some fish spotted. Sedimentary rock - shale - forms the gorge walls. The 'waterfall' was more like a trickle but this may be due to the absence of rainfall over the past month. The flame is within the wall of the waterfall and creates a cool natural visual.

Great little hike that is just challenging enough for my toddler. Bring a lighter just in case the flame is out

It’s a fun, short trek. Glad I was finally able to hike it with my wife.

Fairly easy hike with some creek crossings and slightly slippery rocks. It’s a pretty awesome sight and a must.

We r gently hiked with our 12 year old. Paths are narrow and may need to step in water to allow others to pass. Beautiful view.

Great views, easy climb, adventure for people of all ages.

This waterfall is truly one of a kind! So amazing. Hike in the winter is a bit sloppy and area around the falls is icy.

One of my favorite trails. Short and not very challenging but great views. Well trafficked area so expect to have company. Great for a all ranges of skill.

Great hike. Awesome views. Easy to follow. Trail markers every few hundred feet.

Easy, heavily trafficked trail (most likely see an abundance of kids and dogs). The flame is really interesting to see, much more enjoyable when there aren’t other people to get in the way of some cool pictures. Other than that it feels just like a walk in a park.

An easy hike. Lots of people were there the day I did it. Old, young, dogs, etc. A little bit of climbing was involved, and plan on getting a little wet after a good rainfall.

Unexpected natural beauty! Never heard of this before! Great creek bed hike. Above ravine, I felt like I was in an Oregon forest! Beautiful!

Very beautiful short hike. Beware of slippery rocks, muddy trail beds, and unearthed tree roots along the trail. Some areas of the trail are difficult to navigate due to these issues or downed trees. Keep on the trail and follow the small signs with flames on them. Seeing the flame and relaxing in the canyon at the end is well worth the trek!

Definitely more difficult than preempted. Went after a rain storm and there was a lot of moving rocks and logs to get to the destination. But really beautiful and fun, nonetheless.

The flame itself is cool to see, the falls themselves were not super impressive, even after a few days of rain. Easy, short little trail. Deceptively easy on the way into the ravine, until you have to climb back out. Follow the trail markers that are white with a little flame on them with numbers.

Love this hike. Do it every time we visit Buffalo. Kids love it.

This was a fun hike for me and my boyfriend but I agree with other reviews saying it should be moderate. There's lots of parts going into the ravine where you have to maneuver over branches. You will get wet but I didn't mind. Still fun. It's a quick but more challenging hike than some reviews make it seem.

Great view and a very easy hike. Make sure you club this him with other nearby hikes as this one goes pretty fast.
Also, don't accidentally put out the flame :).

Great view! Pretty hike! Still some snow on the ground, but makes for a beautiful scene! It is quite muddy in spots, so brace yourself..... I personally did not think this hike was very hard, just tricky in some spots! You do have to maneuver over branches and through the will get wet!!! However I am from Washington state where I climb mountains.....

Fun hike. Start above the gorge then work your way down and follow the river.
You'll get wet, but it's worth it with the Eternal Flame hidden under the waterfall!

Beautiful. Bring a lighter, just in case you need to re-light it (you can smell the natural gas).
Hard to hike if it is very icy.

decent, good scenery fun time can be turned into a day hike depending on where you start from and if you side track trails.
