Five stars for the views -- spectacular view of both the fron four and the Slide Mountain area. Sometimes you also get to see the eagles (or, at least, watch the photographers watching and waiting). Don't expect a hike, but it is a very enjoyable walk. It's called the Ashokan Promenade for a reason.

Nice paved trail but very exposed so will be cold on a windy day!

This is a wonderful path to run, walk, and ride bikes. It is breathtaking year-round. A little shady at some parts, but mostly full-sun. A great place to run!

Nothing strenuous just picturesque along the top of reservoir. Saw bass fish and a mink. Gorgeous day out today.

Agree with all the prior reviews. Great walk. Outstanding views in all directions. Great for sunsets. Nice to run, walk, bike or push a stroller. Lots of deer in the evening.

Paved road, no shade, great view.

Beautiful and well maintained pathway, flat and great for biking, walking and running. Amazing views of the Catskills, sunsets are beautiful here with lots of benches to to rest and view it from. The area is packed with wildlife, lots of deer!

To Cas B, I ride this path frequently and have never seen a dog or dog poop. There are, however, quite a lot of goose droppings at this time of year. I wonder if that's what you might have seen. As long as I'm here, it's an easy bike ride, nearly flat throughout with one modest incline. Beautiful views of the reservoir, but little to no shade.

One of my favorite walks. Gorgeous views. If you’re lucky, you’ll see eagles and/or blue heron.

Beautiful views of the reservoir. Flat all way. Nice 5.5 mile walk with beautiful views.

We went in winter. Snow was mostly cleared off trail. Easy out and back with cool Views of the water frozen over and mountains in background.

Absolutely serene clean walk! Beautiful views. I managed to get 6 miles out of the walk doing some loops around the circle where we parked! 60 minutes from Middletown NY for me worth the drive

A lovely and peaceful hike on wide flat pavement with beautiful views of the reservoir and mountains. There are benches along the path to stop and relax and admire the scenery. It's a very special place and provides a great way to be out in nature for those of all ages and skill levels. There's a monument right off the path at one spot and I'm told that eagles nest in an area right off the path as well. It's a great place to rejuvenate and reconnect with nature that's accessible to all.

Sweet short bike ride with stunning views of all the peaks to be hiked. Fountain gives off a lovely spray up close (and a breezy downhill thrill!). 5 stars for an accessible feast for the eyes.

Had beautiful autumn views of the Catskill Mountain range on our recent walk. Would love to return with a bike. As it is unshaded and paved it may be a bit much during the dog days of summer

Easy walk and great views of the mountains. I wish I could bring my dog but no animals allowed! Still worth it!

This is an easy walk with absolutely beautiful views all the way around.

Went on a clear, hot day--there is no shade-given its paved, this is really better served as a bike path w open view on the reservoir
