A very well constructed and maintained rail trail in Dutchess County, NY. Starts at the Hopewell Depot trailhead in Hopewell Junction and ends at the Mid-Hudson Bridge. You can continue on the Hudson Valley Rail Trail through Highland to Lloyd, NY. This rail trail has the distinction of having the longest rail trail bridge in the world! Very flat for the most part.

Beautiful and fairly easy. I would avoid weekends - if possible. It gets pretty busy on the bridge.

Long flat trail with very few road crossings, and lots of shade. Highly recommended - does have lots of people but a very wide trail so not a problem.

This is a great trail for bikes, strollers, and anyone who just wants to stretch their legs. My big complaint is all of the dog poop baggies. I was on a short stretch of well used trail and saw a ton of poop baggies on the side of the trail, stuffed into signs, tucked neatly under memorial benches and even sitting right on the benches. If you are out with your dog and you have any value for this beautiful trail please take your poop bags out with you. So many people enjoy this trail system and it should be kept cleaner. Otherwise really nice views and easy walking here. Even accessible too for people with wheelchairs.

Very easygoing rail trail, flat and open with asphault based trail. Excellent lake views. Personally, I think best done on a bike and when sunny.

Trail is wide, smooth, and cleared. Fairly busy on weekends. Mostly bikes and families, especially near the walkway over the Hudson. Near the Walkway, it’s crazy crowded with folks milking about and completely forgetting (or not knowing) trail etiquette). Several signs warning of steep inclines, but there is nothing steep - in fact barely any elevation change at all. Dozens of benches memorializing dead people along the sides. Portable restrooms are available, which is uncommon along the rail trails - very useful. Pleasant, easy for cycling. Super flat.

Wonderful, relaxing, whether on foot, bike, or roller blades. Great views. It also extends to trails on the West side of the Walkway path over the Hudson.

Great trail for biking! The roads are very smooth and scenic. Light traffic and good for jogging, biking and roller blading. There a few steep hills but overall a great ride. Leads to Walkway over the Hudson Valley River and continues into the Hudson Valley Rail Trail.

Awesome rail trail. Rented a recumbent bike at James Taylor's Leisure Ride bike shop in Poughkeepsie. Went south on the trail first, accidentally, as the goal was to ride to the Hudson River. Heading south toward Hopewell Junction was great though, this is a beautiful rail trail. Turned around then headed north then west to the Mid-Hudson Bridge. The views from the bridge were spectacular and the sun was just setting which added to the ambiance. A wonderful trail, go for it!
