Lemon squeeze was epic! Rock scrambling was challenging too. After that the hike is a breeze. Beautiful fall hike... Foilage was on point!

Was cloudy today, no scenic views, but the route was a nice mix of carriage roads and trail.

I altered this trail and went to the gate house first then to the pond. It was very windy so I cut it short. Beautiful wide trails all the way.

We parked in a small lot at the end of Pine road. The trail to the pond is an old carriage road and is wheelchair accessible. The trail around the pond is uneven and narrow and would not be accessible to wheelchairs, but will be fine for children and people with minor difficulties walking. We didn't see any ducks, but we did see a truly massive old snapping turtle rooting around in the lake shallows, as well as a green frog and some birds darting around over the surface of the lake. A number of friendly Mohonk Preserve volunteers were there, walking their dogs or just enjoying the late-afternoon light.
