This is the easiest hike in Hudson Highlands State Park, as much of it is on the concrete driveway of the old Stern-Cornish Estate, with a quite gentle ascent to the estate ruins. From the parking lot at Little Stony Point, take the Cornish Trail (blue blazes), which more or less parallels NY Route 9D. Once you reach the concrete driveway, head uphill on it (you're still on the Cornish Trail) until you reach the very obvious estate ruins on the north (left) side of the trail. It's well worth your time to explore the surrounding area to see all the various structures (including a swimming pool, greenhouse, a laundry facility, and a pump house. [Use the red/blue route, which is a link between the Cornish Trail (blue blazes) and the Brook Trail (red blazes).]

Really easy hike, good for kids and beginners. Was a good cooldown coming from the full loop of Bull Hill. 70% of it is paved.

Great hike, my 7 year old nephew had a blast!

Very simple in-and-out walk to the historic ruins. Flat without scenic views. Much better if tagged on as part of Bull Hill Trail. Enjoy!

I loved hiking this trail yesterday! The ruins are very easy to get to, and it is awesome to walk through the old house, pool, greenhouse, etc. You can really imagine what it would have been like to live there and the parties they used to have.

Just did this trail and it wasn’t too bad. Everything was really outgrown so they definitely need to keep up with it more. The bugs were really irritating the whole hike. The markings should be updated too.

A pretty trail to follow and easy to do with a dog. Just expect lots of people and dogs on the trail.

Easy trail. Peaceful and quiet. Fun to explore ruins

We initially took the trail to the Cornish is state. It was almost paved and an easy trail. After looking at the ruins we continued on the blue then yellow then white trails which I believe is the short loop to Bull Hill. That was moderate and hard with stream walking on rocks and rather steep going down at the end. Awesome views up West Point Bear Mountain and the Hudson river, both South and North.

Easy, flat, mostly paved trail from the parking lot to the ruins. The trail alone is a quick walk, but you could easily spend an hour or more exploring the ruins. In addition to the main house, there's the pool, greenhouse, various storage buildings, and the gazebo. It's incredible how much is still so we'll intact. The trail was decently crowded, the parking lot and road parking was pretty much completely full. The trail also leads to Breakneck, and given it is one of the most popular hikes in NY, and it was a beautiful spring day, I'm not at all surprised it was crowded.

Just as expected - extremely easy hike on a paved road that leads to an eerie, yet beautiful burned down estate. On a clear day in early spring you can see through the trees down to the water, with the cliffs on the other side. Perfect walk with a dog or with people that generally don't hike often.

All terrain trail at first, for about .5 miles. Then turns too concrete.

This trail is NOT meant for running. It is strictly meant for hiking. There is some hardball surfaces but mostly rocky trails. The abandoned building and small waterfalls are cool. It’s worth the hike.

This trail was very pleasant on a slightly windy day. Beautiful views of the mountain. Highly recommend.
