This is the easiest hike in Hudson Highlands State Park, as much of it is on the concrete driveway of the old Stern-Cornish Estate, with a quite gentle ascent to the estate ruins. From the parking lot at Little Stony Point, take the Cornish Trail (blue blazes), which more or less parallels NY Route 9D. Once you reach the concrete driveway, head uphill on it (you're still on the Cornish Trail) until you reach the very obvious estate ruins on the north (left) side of the trail. It's well worth your time to explore the surrounding area to see all the various structures (including a swimming pool, greenhouse, a laundry facility, and a pump house. [Use the red/blue route, which is a link between the Cornish Trail (blue blazes) and the Brook Trail (red blazes).]

Nice easy trail. Blue trail gently ascends to the Cornish estate via the old driveway. It's mostly a paved path all the way....except the beginning from the parking lot area. That part is a well worn dirt and rock trail....not suitable for strollers ...but perfect for kids who can amble alongside you. Popular place so get in early or lot will be full. If you're up for the challenge veer off onto the red trail to explore more. The only complaint I have is the boneheads that feel it necessary to spray paint on the rocks. Some people are just disrespectful like that but most are very good. Leave nature alone please and keep your trash in your pockets.

Half the hike, only a few trees separate you from the highway. The estate ruins are somewhat interesting but there's really not much there

What a great adventure. Most of the hike was paved of sorts. But the kids loved exploring the buildings. The view of the water as you hike up was beautiful.

Easy, pretty trail, nice hike with family or if you're looking for something more relaxing. Probably a good option for trail run actually as the trek is flat for most of the way. It's also fun to explore the old structures that exist from the Cornish Estates!

Great easy trail, saw plenty of dogs and kids which speaks to how accessible it is to different people. Definitely a great hike to see the old Cornish estate.

Easy for kids and kept them thoroughly entertained. We checked out little stony point after for a picnic lunch. After running around the ruins it was an easy 3.5 miles (with a 1.5, 6 and 9yr old).

Really easy hike, good for kids and beginners. Was a good cooldown coming from the full loop of Bull Hill. 70% of it is paved.

Very simple in-and-out walk to the historic ruins. Flat without scenic views. Much better if tagged on as part of Bull Hill Trail. Enjoy!

I loved hiking this trail yesterday! The ruins are very easy to get to, and it is awesome to walk through the old house, pool, greenhouse, etc. You can really imagine what it would have been like to live there and the parties they used to have.

Just did this trail and it wasn’t too bad. Everything was really outgrown so they definitely need to keep up with it more. The bugs were really irritating the whole hike. The markings should be updated too.

A pretty trail to follow and easy to do with a dog. Just expect lots of people and dogs on the trail.

Easy trail. Peaceful and quiet. Fun to explore ruins

We initially took the trail to the Cornish is state. It was almost paved and an easy trail. After looking at the ruins we continued on the blue then yellow then white trails which I believe is the short loop to Bull Hill. That was moderate and hard with stream walking on rocks and rather steep going down at the end. Awesome views up West Point Bear Mountain and the Hudson river, both South and North.
