Hidden away in the development-packed Rochester suburb of Penfield, the once popular and privately owned park continues to serve as a small slice of nature for the community to enjoy. The pebble-lined Allens Creek enters the park as visitors do, through the vaulted stone arch of the railway bridge. It is this tunnel that gives visitors a feeling of entering another world; one that really shouldn't be here, as they leave the busy expressways and business complexes above, and follow Allens Creek as it winds around glacial formations and drops over several small frothy cascades. Tunnel Falls, lying just as the creek emerges from beneath the vine-covered stone of the rail bridge, is the first of many lovely scenes that is remembered long after leaving. Two additional cascades, although small in size, shake up the creek and provide a little excitement in this otherwise serene landscape. In addition to the three cascades, the southern part of the park carries hikers around rolling glacial moraines left from the last ice age, wetland marsh that is as saturated with wildlife as it is with water, and a wind-swept meadow in the heart of it all. Being an oasis of green within an urban jungle, migrating birds often use the valley as a stop-over on their long journeys. Over 100 species have been spotted here. The northern end is perfect for an afternoon shaded walk through deciduous and mixed woodland. The trails here are well-maintained and spotting local wildlife is unavoidable. The Corbetts Glen neighborhood is friendly and very protective of the park. The town of Brightons plans for adjacent development are an immediate danger to the health of this isolated ecosystem. Didn’t know this trail existed until I downloaded the app and after today it’s gonna be one of my favorites. Well maintained and clean! Tree roots and some loose soil on the inclines but easily Navigable.

It was disappointing that wading is forbidden. On a 95+° day, the water looked very refreshing. Otherwise, a beautiful hike!

My husband and I are beginners and this trail was great for us. Beautiful walk through the woods, but there lots of roots and some inclines if you have trouble with mobility.

Nice to be in the woods but limited view of Glen and waterfalls. No restrooms. My dog and I enjoyed it!

I love this trail. The first time I did it I had no idea about the history or the small water fall, bridge and stream. There are some rocks you have to climb down to get there it’s not bad but if you have mobility issues just be forewarned. It’s beautiful though!

Easy trail, well marked and kept up. Dogs on leash, there are signs that say no wading in the water and to not let your dog in the water. Nice open field not too far in with a little bench where you can sit and observe.

Moderate, urban, unpaved trail through the woods with a small waterfall amidst a stream. Definitely need hikers or boots at this time of year. Full trail experience will lead you up and down hills. Just did trail with our three and four year old that hiked the entire trail beside us.

More like a walk in someone’s backyard. If you don’t want to see any wildlife and just want a quick walk, then it’s okay. Otherwise, I saw more private property signs than any wildlife, and you can hear the cars zooming by on the freeway.

Great little hidden area! There's a sign explaining how it was a hangout for teens during the 60s and 70s- you can see remnants. It's better to start at the park entrance (GPS Corbett's Glen Nature Park) and hike through the woods to arrive at the beautiful Postcard Falls. If you want just a quick trip, park at the Glen Road entrance right off of Penfield Road and walk right down to the falls. There's also a cool book of vintage photos at this spot.

Great trail for all ages. Casual walk, some steeper climbs.

Nice hike. Very family friendly. Only one part is really "moderate", coming from the north to the tunnel area. Only downside is people leaving their dog poop bags all over. Really, not cool. Otherwise, loved it!

Great family friendly hike. Parking can be an issue so get there early. One last thing, people should really take there bags of dog poop with them. I really don’t think it’s the town responsibility to pick up after hikers dogs.

beautiful walking trail, easy to walk without too much elevation. once you get to the water there is a great binder full of history of the Glen including pictures dating back to the 1900s.

Small parking area, accommodate less then 10 vehicles. More then half of trail is well shaded. Railroad borders 1 side of trail, great to orient oneself on the trail. Easy walking, minor elevation changes. Excellent water features, water friendly.
