Great hike with some nice views at the top! Very steep for the most part—having trekking poles really helped. It might also be helpful to note that the steep inclines are mostly dirt, not rocks, so be prepared to work your ankles! We went on an early September weekday, and there was no one else on the trail. You get a decent sliver of a view of Lake George, but you can see all the way south towards Black and Buck Mountains on a clear day. At the other lookout, you can see the northern tip of Lake George and some of Lake Champlain, with Vermont mountains in the background. Neither view is panoramic but it’s a great moderate day hike!
