Easy going gently sloping trail that is approx 1.1 miles to an open rock summit with 360 degree views The Coney Mountain Trail is a very gentle trail that winds around the mountain for about 1.1 miles to the summit with an elevation gain of 523 feet by the time you reach the summit at 2267'. The summit is completely open and offers amazing 360 degree views. Nice easy hike for the pups and young ones.
360° amazing views, great trail ,we enjoyed it.
Great trail. Well marked and very scenic trail. You circle the mountain so a good portion of the trail is sloping to the side. the view from the top is fantastic. You don't have to be an expert hiker to do this trail.
Took this hike today. Though we knew it was a cloudy day and no views from the top, nevertheless a wonderful hike and experience at the top of mountain. Bit of a climb uphill but coming down took us half the time. Recommended!
Beautiful view from the top...I want to go again later this fall to see some color
Completed with the husband and both dogs today.
Coney was the 3rd and final hike for my wife and I to finish the Tupper Lake Triad! Coney was the best out of the three! The hike up was tough yet nice and easy at times! The final push up the rock faced summit was great! We are newer to hiking (late 20s) so we were pretty beat doing this, made it to the summit in 24 minutes and 30 down but stopped to take some pictures! The view was amazing! 360 all around!
Coney was our third and final hike of the day for our completion of the TL Triad. I'd say it was fairly easy; A LOT of roots, so watch your footing. We took a little longer reaching summit, but the view was a gorgeous reward! We arrived at 2:20pm, summit at 3:40 and returned to our vehicle at 4:30. I loved the large, bald summit. The 360° views are beautiful! This short hike is worth the effort, for sure.
a beautiful day for a hike...we are hiking with our grandson so he can finish the Tupper Lake Triad....the view is amazing....we will have to go again in the fall to see all the color...we finished the triad today 9/23...it was an awesome experience to share with our grandson
Definitely a toddler friendly hike with a stunning 360 degrees view!
Great views, pretty easy hike
Big Bang for your buck! Not a great weather day for this one but the 360 degree views will make this a must do again hike!
Easy, short hike with a great view! Took us just over an hour round trip, including 10 minutes at the top. Lots of dogs and families. If you're looking for a quick hike with a rewarding view, this is the hike for you. Did as part of the Tupper Lake Triad.
This trail is well marked and rather easy.Great views at the summit for such a little effort getting there. This is a good hike for just about anyone as we saw many dogs, younger kids and some older adults on the trail.I would recommend this trail to anyone looking for good views and a nice safe trail.
Enjoyed a beautiful sunset on top of Coney a few days ago. We ran up and down the mountain, very gradual inclines until the last hundred feet where it gets slightly steeper. Great for kids.
Did this and the others from the Tupper Lake Triad all in one day! Such a fun challenge.
Great hike. It is short but the whole trip to the vista is uphill so a good workout for us middle aged folks. The view is absolutely spectacular.
it was a cloudy, with light rainy day but the hike was short and easy. this was the start of the triad for me.

The best of the Tupper Triad! Even though it lacks Mount Arab's fire tower, it has views in all directions for miles! Rivers and lakes in distance, along with countless mountains. The summit is also large, so if it's a crowded day there should be plenty of room to take in the views. The trail itself is in great shape and is basically a more gradual version of Mount Arab. DO THIS!
View is great
Outstanding views for such an easy hike.
By far my favorite of the Tupper Triad. An easy hike with a beautiful summit.
Our last hike of the day to complete the TL Triad. It was a great hike. There were students out on the trail doing maintenance. Many thanks to them for maintaining the trails!
Super easy hike with an outstanding view. Nice and dry right now.
This was our second peak for the Tupper Lake Triad. Amazing summit for a little mountain. True 360 views. You can see the other Triad mountains (Goodman & Arab), Mount Morris, the Sewards, Santanoni's and many other High Peaks.
This hike was the completion of the Tupper Lake Triad challenge (third completion, 2 X Winter, 1 X Summer). This hike is one of those best bangs for the buck kinda mountains. When ever we have friends visiting who not not regularly hike, we take them on this hike.
Easy little hike. Part of the Tupper Lake Triad. I did the three little mountains today. Easy trail with nice views at the top. About 2.2 miles round trip. Icy conditions today. If your using crampons (I did) it is a piece of cake.
Beautiful view. Great climb. Trail was icy needed to wear spike. One of three for the day.
Great reward for little effort. The views were fantastic and the trail was very well marked.
Thought the trail was easy to walk for all ages
Snowy trail, made well for the rocks/ no slipping, as the snow was very packed down and 2-3". Outstanding views of the high peaks.
