Colonie Town Park Outer Loop is a 1.7 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Cohoes, New York that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, running, and nature trips and is best used from March until November.
Trail was easy to follow and well marked. There are multiple trails that crisscross each other. Lots of families and dogs on the bike trail but we had the tail mostly to ourselves. Not too much mud.
popular hike- especially in summer due to pool and dog park. winter has views of mohawk through trees. relatively flat. there was a sheen of muddy sand/clay due to snow melt but nothing to stop you. recommend for kids and pups on leashes. much of this trail was on pavement- nice woods if you want to go off script but take photo of path guide when enter. park on bike path parking lot in winter - in summer you will have to pay to go in.
Different trails to choose. It was a little muddy and icy but so much fun!!
