Nice hike through a mostly hemlock forest. Parking is getting difficult during summer. No signs for Codfish Point. Just have to look for the yellow trail once you level out. Be careful for bears and porcupines if you have a dog. And rattlesnakes, tho I never saw them here. Lots of stinging nettles in late summer. Stay on trail.

Great hike! Nice walk through the woods and a beautiful overlook once you reach the top of the mountain. was not marked as titled but follow the blue trail up to the top and Then take the yellow trail for a great view.

The trail was not marked anywhere as Codfish Point - I followed the blue markers from Platte Clove Preserve labeled Overlook Mountain and used the AllTrails map to figure out when I reached my destination.
Overall a pretty and fairly easy walk. I popped up Indian Head on my way back to make it more strenuous. There are rattlesnakes in this area so be alert.

Relaxing easy hike. Make sure you turn left onto the yellow trail in the end to get the panoramic view.

My first hike and it was a good one! I'm not in shape and found it to be just fine. Loved it! Great view & rest stops!

We started the path from the long trail which connects to The Devil's hiking route and other mountain trails. Long path is as the name suggests a pretty long trail but there isn't much elevation gain so overall it's a nice walk through the woods. Before getting to Codfish Point you will pass a rock quarry zone from the 1850s and an area on the left where people made their own furniture using the flat~rocks. Really creative! Then comes a shelter house and lastly (if you want to stop there) codfish point on the left, overlooking the Hudson River. There is a nice handmade stone bench where you can rest a bit and enjoy the view.
