One of my favorite short hikes in this neck of the woods. There's a little elevation gain at the start, but overall, it's a very tame route. It's very kid friendly as well.

The woods were dry on our hike, so the big wet spot just before the junction with the abandoned snowmobile trail, wasn't an issue. There was a little blow-down, but easy to negotiate. The pond was looking good in the morning sun.

Hiked this May 26 with my DH. Not strenuous, just a quiet, wooded hike the whole way until you get to the pond. There is also a primitive campsite close by. Bring your insect protection! ;-)
