Very short (0.4 each way) but enjoyable trail through woods and then up onto a rocky outcrop with a nice view. Great hike for kids - streams to enjoy, woods and a very fun rock scrammble with a rope to help you up. The views are great for such a short hike.
Great view. If it's icy do not go the steep route!
For the distance - and two SC visitors - this was a great hike and view!
The trailhead and parking are located at the Northwoods School.
We smartly rented spikes from the bike shop and it made the icy conditions so much more manageable.
Will definitely bring family next time!
Great hike with the dogs. Nice view at the top!
Beautiful. A wintry wonderland.
Great family hike!
This was a nice walk. The steep trail was a little more then I expected but still very fun and doable. Beautiful view at top. Lovely lake views on return.
The entire family did this hike last summer. It was a bit steep at some parts for some of the older folk. Also, parts of it were very muddy. I was glad I had my hiking boots on instead of my trail sneakers. The view from the top was awesome for such a short hike. On the way back down, it started raining and the group split up as some of us ran back to the cars. Mom somehow took a wrong turn and was lost for a little while. It was actually quite frightening but a little while later she came walking up the road that we had parked on saying she ended up in a neighborhood down the street! So be careful to stay on the trail ! Other than the scare it was a fun, short hike good for the entire family !
