HikingGreat!

Keep an eye on trail markers since with leaves down it is easy to find yourself off trail

Nice trail. Marking was usually pretty good but some areas could use additional markings especially in the fall with heavy leaf debris making trail hard to see on the ground. Nice view of pond. A few large step overs and an annoying duck under. But overall enjoyable.

Short hike, but worth it and pretty easy with no real obstacles or major elevation (there isn't even any undergrowth until you get close to the pond). The pond itself is serene and makes you feel way more remote than the 1.5 mi it takes to get there.

HikingGreat!

Great moderate hike- continuous ascent for most of the way out but easily doable with ample trail markers, great space at the end of the trail by the pond to relax. Bugs were not a problem until we reached the pond.

Great secluded little hike with some trees down but nothing impassable. Very buggy but hit trail in between rain storms and muggy. Did as a family in 2 hours including enjoying the pond at the end. Didn’t see another person the whole time...

Really nice, sweet trail. Early morning gives a dappled sunlight in the forest with the song of the hermit thrush from the trees. A major plus - the water feature. Thdd EDD pond is shallow, watch for submerged twigs and branches (rocks too, of course), if you take a dip. Very quiet, no others on a Saturday morning (until they read this review).

Loved this hike - easy enough for the family to do, but gave us some nice exercise on the steady incline up. The ground was more forested than rocky which made it easier on the joints as well. With a stop and admire pace, we did this hike in 2 hours and 45 minutes. The trail was also empty when we arrived - the least crowded trail that we did in the region. That was a plus + easy paved parking nearby.

I would give 4.5 if I could do half stars. Trail is well marked but a bunch of trees have to be hopped because not cleared and definitely wear bug spray. Did trail at 10 am on July 4 and was absolutely empty. Pretty pond view at the end and took us 2.5 hours because we are slow, but I’d call this a 2 hour hike in average.

Nice secluded trailhead, but with parking plowed out. Slow steady climb to the pond, microspikes doing the job. Deep snow to either side of the trail at times, but didn’t need snowshoes. Nice short hike to start a day out.

This was a nice trail for a winter hike. It was a pretty setting and ended at a frozen lake with some apparent beaver activity. The trail was icy and muddy but definitely worth it.
