Beautiful well marked hike. We did the loop and visited both ponds. Muddy in areas but nothing unusual for a spring Adirondack hike.

I highly recommend doing the Clear pond to John Pond loop...a little over 5 miles and the trail is much nicer from Clear to John Pond.

Did the loop trail clockwise to Clear Pond then John Pond. Absolutely spectacular trails. Well marked, well drained and well kept. We did a side trip to Center Pond on a freshly cut/marked trail about half way up the Clear Pond trail. That was a good destination as well. The yellow marked loop trail is about 5 miles long and can be done in a few hours, plus exploring the lakes, Lean-to at John Pond is very nice. Old graveyard from 1897 is interesting as well.

Nice for all family members.

This 70+ year old had a pleasant hike into the lake. Except for the usual tree roots and small rocks trail was easy to follow. Only went up and down around 200 feet so no problems there. Lake is small but very pleasing to see.

Beautiful and easy. Great swimming possibilities. No bugs today.

Easy and lovely. There is a fire pit. Marked trail splits off before Clear Pond heading to John's Pond. 1.4 miles. Directions to trails: chamberlain to starbuck, turn left. Stay straight till end which is Wilderness Lane. Park on right; trail begins at left across the Lane.

Easy hike for those in shape moderate hike for those out of shape. I logged in a 45 pound pack and stayed for 2 to 3 days fishing for brook trout. into thousand 15 the brook trout are readily available towards the spring. It is now the beginning of July and they are harder and harder to catch due to moving to the water. I tend to now catch one a day. Have seen Brooktrout sizes from 9 inches to 17 inches. There is a sign at the trailhead but on the way back there is a Y make sure to stay left as if you go right the trail will peter out.

A hidden gem. Easy trail to a serene pond. Good at bushwhacking? This trail can be combined with John Pond trail, to make an enjoyable loop.
