Beautiful walk. More a walk than a hike, though some parts are quite steep. There are more trials than the two loops shown.I you go straight up the hill along the edge of the. meadow, there's also a trail that continues past the cutoff to the tower, down around the back side of the first hill to the left (west), and then along heading SW. Trails aren't marked AT ALL, but are wide and easy to follow. Quite well maintained, and mowed paths in the open field as well. Who maintains this place? Clark Foundation?

What a beautiful walk on great wide trails. Likely perfect for Mt. biking as well. Trails aren’t marked well but just stay right then head left and you’ll make a big loop. As for the tower, if you can’t find it you likely shouldn’t be in the woods without a guide

Lovely, mellow amble through cool mixed hardwood forest. Very easy wide paths, but LOTS of diverging paths that didn’t seem to be represented on the All Trails maps, but still easily navigated. In all, a nice break from in-town Cooperstown crowding. Nice farm-to-table cafe (Origins) just up the road from trailhead.

Wonderful trail, but could state where the tower is on the map. It was a bit hard to find at first, but if you stay straight on the wide black trail you will run right into it. Great experience overall!

Nice trail

A bit misleading you can’t actually get near the tower because of the fence around it. Trail isn’t marked, but still a nice short hike.

Trail isn’t marked, and if you follow the trail on this map it doesn’t bring you to the tower. But the trails are clear, and very easy to walk.

This is a easy but scenic trail that is appropriate for children and dogs. The trail is ideal for XC skiing.

First of all, unless we missed something, this is by no stretch of the imagination a HARD hike, nor does one have to be a "very experienced adventurer" to enjoy it. There are a few steep hills, but nothing overly strenuous (and many of the hills are avoidable). There are numerous side trails, not all of which are well-marked, so it's easy to lose one's bearings. The trail shown in the map is not comprehensive of the entire trail system. It's important to note that the tower is at the end of the trail marked in black, and only takes a few minutes to get to.

All-in-all, a very pleasant hike, mostly through a forested area with fern underbrush. We spent about two hours hiking and checking out the tower (which is, unfortunately, surrounded by a fence and inaccessible).

we went out to hike this and there are 2 significant drawbacks. One, the driving directions to get thee are wrong. We ended p in down town coopers town and had to ask for directions. The second problem we ran into was that the only marked trail was about a mile. There are other trails that I plan on going back to see if we can fine the 6.7 miles, but our experience this weekend was disappointing. The tower was beautiful though.
