We started out at the camp ground. There really is no direction, and Clap isn't even listed on the trail head. We opened the sign in register to look for a map, inside the the register was ripped to shreds and turned into a mice nest. They started jumping out of the top of the box! We closed the register and started on our way. There ARE trail markers for the trails listed. Like I said, nothing about Clap. We walked about a mile and turned around and saw a small faint trail and followed that. It DID bring us to Clap Mtn. Cliffs. That is a nice place to take a seat and have a drink. We checked that out for a few, then looked for ANY trace of a trail we could find to continue on, and there was NOTHING. We went a ways into the woods to try to make our way to summit. Definitely need to clear a path for yourself! We ended up turning back and leaving when we heard gun shots a couple times. Pretty place, and a decent little adventure, but I don't think we will go back.
