Description
Waypoints (0)

This is a nice wooded dirt trail that runs along the lake with picnic tables and small beach access. There is a $7 parking fee. Accessibility: There appears to be at least 1 designated accessible space in the paved parking lot off of Rogers Road at the south end of the trail. It appears to be van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is dirt, gravel, and wooden boardwalk with edge barriers and typically at least 3 feet wide. The estimated grade is mostly gentle (5% or less), except for a steep (8-12%) section at about 1.0 miles uphill and downhill when going clockwise. There appear to be several steps to get onto the wooden boardwalk at about 1.1 miles. Trail goers using wheelchair/mobility equipment or strollers may need assistance in the steeper section and the area with steps or to avoid them for safety. All-terrain tires or motorized equipment may be needed for the surface type.

The AllTrails app trail did not coincide with one singular park trail (trail marker trail signs) but rather went all over the place along multiple trail routes and was hard to follow. The trail itself is very nice, an easy nature walk I would say, trails aren’t marked all too well and there are many options that look like trails that aren’t actually trails and rather service roads or maybe for ATVs.

Easy trail around the lake. I'll be back to explore the other trails here. There were picnic tables and a small beach also. Nice place for families.

Beautiful trail around the lake! Easy trail, no climbing anywhere! Boating, fishing allowed in the lake! Beginning of the trail also has an artificial beach and pool accompanied by a picnic area. Pretty good for a picnic and chill by the beach! Good to spend a sunny evening!

Beautiful little trail around the lake. The further you go, the less trafficked it becomes. Beautiful lake views.

Really nice spot for an easy walk. Trails aren’t really labeled though and their park map isn’t great so I just used AllTrails.

Beautiful, cold, winter day for a great hike. The trail was easy to negotiate. Part was on the road and 2nd half through the woods.

TCHC hike at CVSP led by Karen Goodman. We parked by the park office and followed the forgotten trail before connecting with a new trail I had never been on before. This new trail ended off the park access road by the beach. Walked along the towpath where we spotted a bald eagle in flight. Eventually turned into the woods with the group splitting in two, one heading for the overlook, the other group (Donna Z, myself and 3 others), heading back toward where we parked. Started to hike toward the Hockey Pond Festival, but deferred instead for the park office. 6.9 miles total distance.

Solitary hike that combined the towpath and river confluence trails. Trail was better than I expected with the rising temp and light rain. Had to do some minor course correction but managed to complete the scripted route. Used hiking poles with normal shoes w/o microspikes.

Perfect walk in the woods. I love all the trails and different sights along the way. I manage to take a different trail back from the confluence overlook each time though lol. Bring a map!

Great for trail running and beautiful view of the Chenango River. Moderately busy, no elevation.
