I got to do it on a perfect November day. Beautiful views. Rugged between Thomas & Cat, but one can do just one or the other. It was sometimes hard to find trail markers on the portion between Thomas & Cat. Note - trail markers between Thomas & Cat were yellow. We did it opposite way that apparently most people do it. Went up to Thomas first and then over to Cat. Scrambling down to Cat from Thomas was easier than scrambling up to Thomas at the end of long hike. The virtual road back to the parking lot from Cat felt long, but was easy, though quite muddy. Also, there is no longer a cabin on top of Thomas. Kiosk at the bottom has not been updated.

Great view at the top. Trail was muddy in places end of November. We went down the wrong trail from the summit of Cat ( no fault of AllTrails) and ended up bushwhacking back to the blue trail walking down it then walking back up to Thomas That part of the trail is steep but only .8 miles

I only hiked Thomas and did not hike the loop. Thomas was very short and sweet!

Fairly dry, well marked on Cat Mountain, not as well marked on Thomas. some rock climbing to Thomas peak coming from Cat. just the right amount of challenge and just under 8 miles. great hike!

Really enjoyed this hike. There are views at both mountains. Cat was absolutely beautiful....the only way it could be better is if it was higher up. I logged the loop with both at 7.6 miles not the 9 that the app says. The trails were really nice overall and not too wet even though it rained yesterday.

Great hike! Trail is a little underwhelming. The views are worth it though. Watch where you’re walk because there are a lot of lose rocks under the leaf litter! Trail was very wet and muddy with two large blow downs on the trail for cat!

We did this trail on 11/6/20 and did the loop to both Cat and Thomas Mountains. It was definitely not 9.1 miles as the description says, we mapped it at around 7.6 miles. I would recommend doing the trail in the direction starting with Cat first then heading to Thomas. The trail from Cat to Thomas is a little more difficult but nothing too crazy, I would rate it as moderate. The views at the top of Cat are beautiful and definitely worth it!

The pathway between Cat and Thomas is wicked tough. But I’m glad that it ended with a quick downhill down Thomas Mountain. Very great trail regardless.

Super rainy, muddy, a little frosty....I loved it! Absolutely gorgeous and quiet. I can’t wait to try this trail in nicer weather.

Love this trail. it was wet, muddy, icey, and snowey. The leaves and snow made it difficult to see the trail, so pay attention to the markers.

Great hike. We climbed to Thomas first then over the ridge trail to cat Mountain. And then back down to the parking lot on Valleywood Road. It does get a little tricky because the leaves are so thick and you don’t see the well worn path. So keep your eyes sharp on the trail markers. There are plenty of them!

HikingGreat!

Decided to go to Thomas Mountain first after the trail split at 0.8 miles in. Very nice views on Thomas alone! Continued onto Cat and reached the summit about 4 miles in. Amazing views! Got there just before more and more people started to come. Trail between Tom and Cat was a little tricky to follow because of all the fallen leaves, but good amount of trail markers. Nice and easy descent from Cat back to parking lot.

The foliage is near or at peak. A great trail, not too muddy. The leaves cover the trail pretty good. Using the trail markers and map are excellent sources to keep on track. Definitely one of my favorites as it's not too bad on the knees.
