Enjoyed this little hike a ton! Took the spur trail down to the lake, great water spot!!! Explored a cave area on the way to the summit. Summit had gorgeous views. Super relaxing time.

Awesome trail, felt like a little more than 600ft just challenging enough to feel like you’ve accomplished something but not difficult by any means. Perfect hike for kids and families alike with a rewarding vista and any easy 2 mile loop back.

Hike w/ Etta, Kyle, Abbey and Oli. Etta hiked up 1.6 before losing steam. Oli made the whole ascent on his own.

I LOVED this trail. It had everything from a nice, leisurely walk in the woods, to caves, to intense rocky scrambles and one of the most beautiful views I’ve seen. There is even a side trail down to the lake so you can take a dip, or let your dog go for a swim. When coming in, you drive through what looks like a campground. You follow a road up to the trail. We took the red trail up, which was an easy ascent, until it met up with the yellow trail for the .4 scramble to the top. Some parts of this were a tight squeeze between rocks. I brought my 5 year old, 80lb lab mix and he had a bit of a rough time getting up and fitting through the rocks at the narrowest point, but he made it. It was a total of 2.2 miles up on the red to yellow. We took the yellow trail down, to make this a loop, and then took the blue side trail, which was .2 miles each way to the water. The descent was 1.8 miles, which put our hike at 4 miles even. We saw 0 people on the red trail, but quite a few at the top and on the way down. All in all, it was a great couple of hours and we really enjoyed it!

Busy hike. I’m glad I got to the trailhead early. I wouldn’t recommend getting here before 10am...

Definitely harder than moderate near the top, but the view at the end is more than worth the struggle.

Beautiful view. A little buggy on the way up and down (not so much at the top). Takes a bit of rock scrambling and a narrow squeeze. I had poles and mechanics gloves with me...glad I did. One other couple at the summit and saw a few people on the trail...not crowded at all (a Monday afternoon).

There are not enough words to describe how beautiful it was at the top. The view is gorgeous. And for that kind of view, a pretty easy hike. The whole trail was really beautiful. Highly recommend!!!!!

great trail! The last 0.1 miles was so fun. The summit isn't huge so with 6 parties up there it got crowded pretty quickly. We summitted around 1pm on a Saturday in June. I brought my 2 dogs (9 year old collie and 3 year old Aussie) and both had a blast and no trouble making it to the summit.

Great hike. Took blue trail to lake shore (.4 round trip), then back to Yellow Trail which is steep but short. Awesome caves and rocks, before scramble at top. Then took red trail back to complete the loop, so gradual that didnt even feel like a descent. 10/10.

If I could give this hike more than five stars, I would. The trails are very well marked and maintained. There was a little bit of everything: rock scramble at the top, small streams to cross, bridges, caves, and a fantastic view! The trail was an easier moderate, but definitely enough to get your heart rate up. It was a chilly day for the last day of May - in the low 40’s and windy at the summit; but that meant no bugs. We did the loop trail, taking the south approach up and the north approach down. Note that on your way down, right after the rock scramble the yellow trail splits. If you take the yellow trail to right it will eventually take you to the red trail and bring you down to the trail head. It’s a gentle descent and just a little longer.

Great first hike of the season for the family. Heavy rains the night before left some mud and slippery rocks and roots near the top. Great views of the lake and surrounds. Would be spectacular in the Fall.

It was a really nice hike honestly. Great hike to start the hiking season with! That last .1 mile was crazy fun! Still a little snow remains on summit and it started snowing on our descent yesterday. Lots of cool massive rocks, small caves, not much muddy spots. I recorded 3.6 miles not what AllTrails have listed.

First time for this hike and summit. Trail head starts at the end of a seasonal roadway. Beginning is easy as it’s a wide gravel roadway. Trail eventually gets to a true Adirondack forest setting. Trail is well marked. Took a detour to Blue Mtn Lake, then hiked back to the summit trail. Steady incline that gets rocky after the intersection of the lake trail / summit trail. Final push is at an incline, several roots, and rocky. Adventurous for my 7 year old but well worth the effort. Summit is small but the views are spectacular. Some sites rated the trail easy to moderate. Definitely agree with that assessment. Well worth the trip. I imagine it’s mobbed on nice weekends so go on a weekday if possible. Not many hikers today, 50ish degrees, sunny, on a Tuesday afternoon. Highly recommended!
