Great hike, spikes all the way. Summit is a complete 360 view, but yesterday when reaching summit around 5pm there were 45mph winds making it hard to even stand. Rocks are nothing but ice, be prepared!

Perfect winter weather conditions, sun out, low wind on trail. Not enough snow for snowshoes to be necessary. Spikes weren't needed on the trail but definitely on the summit, where all the exposed rock was a sheet of ice and the wind was whipping hard enough to make you lose your footing. Sat for lunch at the Porter junction. Total moving time was 3 hours.

Great trail. Wooded, mostly shaded until you get to the top. A bit out of shape so I found it a bit challenging but it was so worth it in the end. Gorgeous 360 degree view. Absolutely worth the climb

This trail was hard do to a lot of rocks. Non stop climbing over rocks and sloshing thru mud. Very difficult on the knees and ankles on the way back down. Spikes were a must. Icy and snowy at the top in the morning. So beautiful and worth every bit. For moderate day hikers it took us 3.5hrs start to finish.

Very muddy but beautiful hike. The tag says it’s a “hard” trail but I would consider it more moderate. It was extremely muddy at lower altitudes and icy/snowy near the top (crampons or hiking poles would have been useful). The amazing views definitely made the conditions worth it though.

Le sentier est abrupte assez rapidement! Beaucoup de roches à montées. Difficile lorsqu’il a mouillé dans les jours précédents... La vue 360 en vaut grandement la peine.

Hiked up with my cousins (~40 y/o) and uncle (67 y/o). This was our first High Peak and did not disappoint! We’re casual hikers so this was a challenge for us - felt like we climbed straight up right from the start. It’s clearly one of the easier hikes for an experienced trailblazer based on the number of people who passed us and other reviews here. All in it took us 5 hours RT, including about half an hour at the top of Cascade. Good coverage on the way up, some particularly muddy areas with standing water closer to the summit (not too hard to get around though). The views are absolutely worth it! The puppies passing us with their owners on the way up were very motivational so strongly recommend bringing yours along if they like to climb- help weaklings like us push through!

Great view at the top. Not bad going up but descent was difficult due to wet and icy rock. A lot of muddy sections as well. We hiked on a Saturday and it was very crowded

Challenging hike but worth it. Was able to fin parking quickly at a pull off around 1:00 in the afternoon. Hiked with a dog and a ten year old. Both did great. Lots of rocks and boulders to navigate. Amazing views at the top!

A must as one of the most accessible of the ADK46 with an amazing view on top. Lots of rocks and would recommend hiking boots to running shoes. Did the hike with a 7-years old australian sheperd who enjoyed the hike as much as we did!
