Very short and pretty, but worth the view at the top.

The hike to the top is NOT easy if unprepared/inexperienced, but the view from the top of Candlewood Hill is gorgeous. The last part of the trail prior to the peak is an almost vertical climb up a patch of jagged rocks, and it is very easy to lose footing here. If hiking before sunset or in the rain bring a flashlight as the tree canopies make it far darker in some spots than one would expect. Beware of large snakes and a few trees/large branches that have fallen onto the trail about 1/2 way up. Parking area for this specific trail is about 1/2 a mile up Sunken Mine Rd after it turns into a one lane road — trail head marker will be on the left-hand side in the shape of a Y. Trail blaze for this hike is coloured red.
